Appointment – Auditor of the Foreign Exchange Reserve (Reserve Bank)

The Royal Mount Vema Reserve Bank, the Sovereign’s Bank of the Kingdom of Mount Vema, referred to as the Reserve Bank, which is responsible for the management of the state-owned sovereign wealth fund, and investments in real and financial assets such as stocks, bonds, real estate, and precious metals, seeks to appoint an Auditor with initiative and analytical ability to deal with operating issues crucial to the smooth running of the Bank’s Foreign Exchange Reserves.
 
As the Auditor of the Foreign Exchange Reserve, you will provide a guarantee to His Mount Vema Majesty – The Vema Seamount Authority in His Capacity as the Chief Financial Officer, that the Foreign Exchange Reserve's risk management, governance and control processes are operating effectively.
 
You will monitor and evaluate how well risks are being managed, how the Reserve Bank is using its foreign exchange reserves, if processes are working, and to advise the management on how to improve systems and processes, to ensure any issues that affect the long term survival and prosperity of the foreign exchange reserves are dealt with.
 
Your work with the senior management will provide evidence to stakeholders such as investors in City of Mount Vema Projects, investors in Mount Vema Government Bonds, Notes and other Treasury Securities that the Reserve Bank and the Bank of Mount Vema are managing the finances of the territory effectively.
 
Mount Vema citizenship is not a requirement to apply for this vacancy.
 
Responsibilities
The tasks include:
  • attending meetings with auditees to develop an understanding of the business processes of the territory
  • travelling to different sites to meet relevant staff and obtain documents and information relevant to your work
  • researching and assessing how well risk management processes are working and recording the results using software such as Microsoft Word and Excel or other as directed
  • providing ad hoc advice and guidance to department managers and staff at all levels, sometimes by delivering courses and training sessions
  • performing risk assessments on key activities and using this information to guide what should be covered in audits
  • anticipating emerging issues through research and interviews and deciding how best to deal with them
  • providing support and guidance to management on how to handle new opportunities
  • agreeing recommendations with relevant staff members to make improvements to operations and helping to secure backing for them in meetings
  • preparing reports to highlight issues and problems and distributing the reports to the relevant people
  • assessing how well the bank is complying to rules and regulations and informing management of any issues that need addressing
  • managing a variety of stakeholders and their expectations through regular communications either directly or through the media.
 
Salary and Benefits
The salary is $70,000 US dollars per year.  Paid monthly in arrears.
Note: Salary will increase at a steady rate over time.
The benefits include paid medical coverage, paid vacation, sick days, holidays, and a pension plan. Benefits are only applicable after you complete three months on the job.
 
Work Conditions
You will be provided with a private Office at a later stage however, initially you will be expected to work from home. Travel is almost always involved in this role, and therefore the work environment may vary quite dramatically day to day.
 
 Requirements
If your application is accepted, you will be required to open a bank account with a Mount Vema bank, if you do not already have a Mount Vema bank account.

Qualifications
The post is open to all graduates but a degree, HND or foundation degree in one of the following subjects may be considered beneficial and could increase your chances of future promotion:
  • accountancy

  • finance
  • IT.

Training
Training is not provided. Except for the use of the software used by the bank. You will be expected to develop your own ways of work, proving that you follow the protocol and the expected codes of conduct.
