Job Vacancy - Construction: Procurement Executive for Wood related products

GolleMARKET, is looking for a Procurement Executive to be responsible for sourcing and purchasing Wood and related products such as timber of the best quality including but not limited to Pine, Spruce, Larch, Juniper, Aspen, Hornbeam, Birch, Alder, Beech, Oak, Elm, Cherry, Pear, Maple, Linden, and Ash, to enable City of Mount Vema project participants to find the best wood related products within the Mount Vema marketplace at the most competitive prices.
 
The successful candidate will be directly involved in the sourcing and purchasing of wood related products to be sold at the GolleMARKET.  You will be involved in sourcing suppliers, contract drafting, negotiation and managing suppliers through the whole procurement process. You will also deal with other factors such as sustainability, risk management, ethical issues, and help the business save money, minimise waste and increase profits.
 
Mount Vema citizenship is not a requirement to apply for this vacancy.
 
Responsibilities
As a Procurement Executive for wood related products, you will need to:
  • forecast levels of demand for services and products
  • conduct research to source the best products and suppliers in terms of best value, delivery schedules and quality
  • run tenders, evaluate bids and make recommendations, based on commercial and technical factors
  • negotiate and agree contracts, monitoring the quality of service provided
  • keep contract files and use them as reference for the future
  • build and maintain good relationships with new and existing suppliers
  • manage and motivate a team of procurement staff
  • liaise between suppliers, manufacturers, internal teams such as supply chain, planning, marketing, IT and sales, and customers
  • develop strategies to make sure that cost savings and supplier performance targets are met - or exceeded
  • undertake value for money reviews of existing contracts and arrangements
  • ensure the security and sustainability of sources of essential products and services
  • forecast price trends and their impact on future activities
  • give presentations about market analysis and possible growth
  • develop and implement a procurement strategy
  • analyse data and produce reports and statistics on spending and saving
  • ensure suppliers are aware of business objectives
  • attend meetings and trade conferences
  • keep up to date with trends and innovations, regulation and new technology that can impact on the business
  • train junior members of staff.
 
Salary and Benefits
The salary is $50,000 US dollars per year.  Paid monthly in arrears.
The benefits include paid medical coverage, paid vacation, sick days, holidays, and a pension plan. Benefits, including bonus, are only applicable after you complete three months on the job.
 
Working hours
You will work normal business hours 9am to 5pm (Mount Vema Time Zone = UTC+1) Monday to Friday however, you may be expected to work additional hours to meet deadlines.
 
Work Conditions
As you will be working outside Mount Vema, you may be provided with an Office at a later stage however, initially you will be expected to work from home. Travel is almost always involved in this role, and therefore the work environment may vary quite dramatically day to day.
 
Requirements
If your application is accepted, you will be required to open a bank account with a Mount Vema bank, if you do not already have a Mount Vema bank account.
 
What to expect
  • The working environment will be initially home based and later office based, although you may need to visit suppliers and customers.
  • There is a high level of responsibility, which can be challenging. However, this is a good career development prospects if you have the right combination of skills and experience.
  • You may need to travel to visit sites, including traveling abroad to attend trade shows or set up business agreements with new contacts, whenever it cannot be done virtually.

Work experience
Previous business experience, especially gained in buying and selling, is important.
 
Training
Training is not provided. Except for the use of the software to help you organize your work. You will be expected to develop your own ways of work, proving that you follow the protocol and the expected codes of conduct.
