Job Title: Procurement Officer / Purchasing Officer / Buyer
Salary: ₲24,000 golles ($42,000 US dollars) to ₲158,000 golles ($280,000 US dollars)
Location: Global
Starting Date: Open from September 2023

 
The entities of the Kingdom of Mount Vema are looking for procurement officers to be responsible for sourcing and purchasing of the best quality equipment, goods and services at the most competitive prices globally, to enable contractors and sub-contractors to operate successfully in Mount Vema.

The successful candidates will be directly involved in the sourcing, negotiating and purchasing of products and services such as:
  • components to make a product that the employer can sell manufacturers
  • products that the employer can sell to retailers (for example a shop)
  • goods and services for use by the employer
  • marketing and advertising services to promote the employer, its customers, or its products or services.
 
You will be involved in sourcing suppliers, contract drafting, negotiation and managing suppliers through the whole procurement process. You will also deal with other factors such as sustainability, risk management and ethical issues.

Your work will help the employer save money, minimize waste and increase profits.
 
Responsibilities
You'll need to:
  • forecast levels of demand for services and products
  • conduct research to source the best products and suppliers in terms of best value, delivery schedules and quality
  • run tenders, evaluate bids and make recommendations, based on commercial and technical factors
  • negotiate and agree contracts, monitoring the quality of service provided
  • keep contract files and use them as reference for the future
  • build and maintain good relationships with new and existing suppliers
  • manage and motivate a team of procurement staff
  • liaise between suppliers, manufacturers, internal teams such as supply chain, planning, marketing, IT and sales, and customers
  • develop strategies to make sure that cost savings and supplier performance targets are met - or exceeded
  • undertake value for money reviews of existing contracts and arrangements
  • ensure the security and sustainability of sources of essential products and services
  • forecast price trends and their impact on future activities
  • give presentations about market analysis and possible growth
  • develop and implement a procurement strategy
  • analyze data and produce reports and statistics on spending and saving
  • ensure suppliers are aware of business objectives
  • attend meetings and trade conferences
  • keep up to date with trends and innovations, regulation and new technology that can impact on the business
  • train junior members of staff.
 
Salary
  • If your job application is accepted at an entry level, for example as a graduate trainee/buyer, you should expect a job offer with an average annual salary of up to ₲24,000 golles (this is the equivalent of about $42,000 US dollars).
 
  • If your job application is accepted at the procurement/purchasing officer level, you should expect a job offer with an average annual salary of ₲30,000 golles and up to ₲40,000 golles (this is the equivalent of about $53,000 and up to $70,000 US dollars).
 
  • If your job application is accepted at the procurement managers level, you should expect a job offer with an average annual salary of ₲46,000 golles and up to ₲53,000 golles (this is the equivalent of about $81,000 and up to $94,000 US dollars).
 
  • If your job application is accepted at the procurement director level, you should expect a job offer with an average annual salary of ₲110,000 golles and up to ₲158,000 golles (this is the equivalent of about $119,000 and up to $280,000 US dollars).
