Stockbrokers are required by the RBMV Bank - Investment Banking Division to buy and sell stocks and other securities for retail, through the Mount Vema Stock Exchange, in return for a fee + commission. If you can handle a fast-paced and challenging financial environment, using your excellent communication, negotiation and analytical skills, working as a stockbroker may be the career for you.
Depending on your client base, but you will generally be expected to provide services to retail investors, who may be wealthy individuals whom you will or already work with directly. However you may also provide discretionary services to fund managers and other financial institutions, who may be independent from you.
You will not only be expected to deal with your clients directly and manage their wealth portfolios, you will also manage existing clients, and develop new business. As a full service broker, you'll provide a personal service to your clients and pass on important information that won't be available to those without the full brokerage service. You'll receive commission whenever the client invests, and you'll deliver personalised research and recommendations on investments.

Because you will work mostly on commission, it's very important that you remember your fiduciary duty towards all your clients, which means that clients have placed the utmost trust and confidence in you to manage and protect their money and investments.
Salaries can be paid either in golles (the Currency of Mount Vema) or in foreign exchange, and my vary based on experience and qualifications.

What to expect
We would prefer candidates with good undergraduate degrees. You may have an advantage if your first degree is in:
- Previous sales experience can increase your chances of getting the job without an undergraduate degree, as can a working knowledge of a foreign language.
- Following a successful online application, you'll need to pass a further two to three interviews.
- Interviews might take the form of a presentation and questions afterwards.
- You may also be required to have a Mount Vema bank account to qualify.

Work experience in sales and customer-facing roles is an advantage. Experience in stockbroking is not necessary as the necessary training will be provided.
All stockbrokers trading at the Gollexi, must be regulated by His Mount Vema Majesty's Government, however you don't need to do anything, as it will be done by the employer on your behalf. The employer will also offer to pay for any relevant course and exams, and give you time off to study to meet Mount Vema Government requirements and later fund your professional body membership.
In addition, the employer will run workshops and seminars as part of on-the-job training. The workshops cover various topics, relevant to the job like the Mount Vema financial markets and changes in legislation.
The successful broker can build up a broad network, which might enable his or her to subsequently set up their own firm or to move to senior management. A senior managers deal with a client base consisting of higher net worth clients, which attracts greater prestige and rewards.
