Independence Day - Mount Vema marks 19 years of sovereignty

August 1st , 2025, Mount Vema marks 19 years of statehood. Nineteen years ago, in 2006 Peter Jon Goldishman, declared the body of water and ancient island currently below sea level, that eroded by millions of years of wave action known as Vema Seamount, and its adjacent waters a sovereign territory, and officially the Kingdom of Mount Vema.
 
To the Mount Vema society worldwide, Independence Day has become one of the most special events in the Mount Vema calendar. This year the bank holiday has been extended until Monday. Except for support, security and emergency services provided by Mount Vema institutions including online will be closed for business until Tuesday the 5th of August. >>>
