This Invitation for Tender is in line with the Vema Seamount Authority General Procurement Notice. HandyDeed, the management contractor hereinafter referred to as “the Employer”, intends using The City of Mount Vema Project - Bond Fund for Site 17 and 18 towards the cost of the Construction of the City of Mount Vema Breakwaters Site 17 and Site 18.
The Employer now invites tenders from contractors for the following contract:
To build the foundation infrastructure of the City of Mount Vema Project Site 17 and Site 18, to achieve optimum functionality, efficiency and effectiveness. A robust and durable structure, based on a sustainable solution to perform over time.
The works required includes, construction, construction technology, contract administration, creating inclusive environments, and sustainability, and must be built with pre-cast concrete, without the need for drilling, and must not obstruct the marine life or sea currents.
The project should be completed no later than August 2021, and should reflect how the site, although flexible can be robust enough to be used as breakwaters, not just to protect the city from possible waves of up to 10 meters or possible tsunamis, but also to boost the marine life and add new land to support regional migratory species.
The foundation of the Site 17 and 18 will be home of the buildings that will house the infrastructures to be built separately under a different tender. Site 17 will be home of the Port of Mount Vema – Container Section (Section C), and Site 18 will be home of the City of Mount Vema Aquaculture Center (Section D).
The foundation works will cover a 300 square meter area, which will support a section of the circular highway, which will form part of the breakwaters. Proposals must not exceed more than 250000 golles per 25 square meters.
To express interest, and to make an offer to build this section of the City of Mount Vema Project and to be qualified for the award of this contract, tenderers must satisfy the following minimum criteria:
1- Have a Mount Vema bank account (an account can be opened with the RBMV Bank.
2- Pay the tender engagement fee of 1000 golles. Note: the tender engagement fee is not refundable. It enables the bidder to access the documents associated with this project (Site 17 and Site 18) and any other project published during a period of 12 months.
