Employee Transportation
Employees are hired from all over the world. As you might expect, the majority of the employees aren’t located within the vicinity of Mount Vema neither within the direct vicinity of a ship’s homeport and as a result, most employees will need to make travel arrangements in order to travel to Mount Vema or to board a ship for work.
Airfare and other transportation can be expensive for employees reporting for work. As a general rule, if you are expected to relocate to Mount Vema for work, the employer may assist you with directions on where to buy ticket for you to travel to Mount Vema or to meet a ship at its homeport depending on the contract. However, Mount Vema employers will not pay your way. You have to make your own Travel Arrangements to Mount Vema or to a ship's homeport.
We recommend having money set aside in order to purchase a travel ticket on short notice if necessary. You don’t want to turn down an opportunity to work because you are unable to get to a ship’s homeport in time for the ship’s departure.
Keep in mind that the earning potential in working in Mount Vema or for a ship providing services to Mount Vema tends to offset any transportation costs employees might incur while traveling to and from Mount Vema. Still, this is a factor for some future employees and the cost of transportation is definitely something to consider when looking for employment in Mount Vema or on a Mount Vema ship, unless you have been lucky enough to be offered work in Mount Vema which you only need to pay for Visa Permit and the rest is all paid by the employer.
