Notice: November 7th, 2020
Changes to the principles governing diplomatic relations with other countries
The Royal Mount Vema Department of Foreign Affairs announcement.
His Mount Vema Majesty’s Government has made Changes to its Principles Governing the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations with Other Countries.
As of today, November 7th 2020, any country seeking to establish diplomatic relations with Mount Vema must show only, its readiness to engage in talks to seek partnerships of mutual benefit, with the aim to one day recognize the government of His Mount Vema Majesty as the sole legal government of the Vema Seamount territory and its adjacent waters.
Until November 7th, 2020, countries seeking to establish diplomatic relations with Mount Vema had to show readiness to recognize the government of His Mount Vema Majesty as the sole legal government of the Vema Seamount territory and its adjacent waters. This policy has been changed to enable other countries to seek dialogue with Mount Vema, and to explore the possibilities to engage in business partnerships including cooperation on immigration, justice, security, science, and taxation without the need to have to first recognize the Kingdom of Mount Vema.
With His Mount Vema Majesty King Peter Goldishman Declaration of Sovereignty, on the first of August 2006, the Mount Vema government declared that the Kingdom of Mount Vema – The Vema Seamount Territory is an independent sovereign entity which requires no recognition from any other entity, as it was never any dispute over the legitimacy of the sovereignty of the Vema Seamount Territory, and before 2006 when the territory was declared a sovereign territory, Mount Vema - Vema Seamount was never a nation or part of a nation, an empire or part of an empire, nor a trusteeship.
His Mount Vema Majesty’s Government will maintain its former policy only when dealing with nations who, may require formal recognition as part of their internal or foreign policy before the establishment of formal diplomatic ties with other nations and territories of the world, which Mount Vema will respect this principle and will apply to its foreign policy in a reciprocal manner.
