Functions of the Military
The Mount Vema Military is designed to have its own dedicated infrastructure such as military housing, academies, utilities, logistics, hospitals, legal services, food production, finance, and banking services. Beyond warfare, the military may be employed in additional sanctioned and non-sanctioned functions, including internal security threats, crowed control, emergency services, construction, protection of economic interests, social ceremonies and state honor guards.
Personnel
Currently all units of the Royal Mount Vema Armed Forces rely only on private military and security companies at least for the next 15 to 25 years. These private companies provide armed combat and security services for a fee. Generally, the Mount Vema military provides the funding, the private companies provide the equipment, weapons and the personnel who provide the services that operate under the flag and uniforms of the military branches and units of the Kingdom of Mount Vema, under a strict lifetime confidential agreement. The origins of the personnel are never revealed. The task of the military of the Kingdom of Mount Vema is the defence of the realm only and its interests against external armed threats.
Command Control
Rank and role
The rank hierarchy of the military of the Kingdom of Mount Vema, is very similar to the armed forces of any other country. The military organization is characterized by a strict command control structure.
Ranks are grouped (in descending order of responsibilities) as:
Officers: Colonels, etc
Non-commissioned officer: Sergeants, etc
Personnel at the lowest rank: Privates.
While senior officers make decisions, the military personnel (soldiers, sailors, etc) fulfill them.
Recruitment and Obligations
Regular Military Service
National military service is mandatory for all Mount Vema citizens (men and women) over the age of 18, to join the Regular Military Service as paid conscripts. Citizens must serve two years and eight months (32 months), with some roles requiring an additional four months.
Some distinguished recruits are selected to be trained in order to eventually become members of the Mount Vema special forces units.
Permanent Military Service
After completion of a 2 years Regular Military Service citizens may join the Military Reserve Service or join the Permanent Military Service which is held as part of a contractual agreement between the Department of Defense and the permanent position-holder. Permanent Military Service is designed for soldiers who choose to continue serving in the military after their Regular Military Service, for a short or long period, thus making the military their career.
The service contract defines how long the soldier's service would be, and towards the end of the contract period a discussion may rise on the extension of the soldier's service duration. Regular service soldiers may be required to commit to a Permanent Military Service after the mandatory Regular Military Service period, in exchange for assigning them in military positions which require a long training period.
In exchange for the Permanent Military Service, the Permanent service soldiers receive full wages, and when serving for a long period as a permanent service soldier, they are also entitled to a pension from the military. This right is given to the Permanent service soldiers in a relatively early stage of their life in comparison to the rest of the Mount Vema retirees.
Military Reserve Service
After personnel complete their Regular Military Service, they are either granted permanent exemption from military service, or assigned a position in the reserve forces. No distinction is made between the assignment of men or women to reserve service.
The Royal Mount Vema Armed Forces may call up reservists for immediate active duty in wartime, or for reserve service of up to one month every three years, until the age of 40 (enlisted) or 45 (officers). Reservists may volunteer after this age, with approval of the military.
Training
Initial training conditions recruits for the demands of military life, including preparedness to injure and kill other people, and to face mortal danger without fleeing. Mount Vema soldiers are God-fearing men and women who are prepared for a physically and psychologically intensive process which prepares recruits for the unique nature of military demands in defense of the faith and in defense of the realm, ready to embrace an environment where:

- Individuality is suppressed (e.g. by shaving the head of new recruits, issuing uniforms, denying privacy, and prohibiting the use of first names);
- Daily routine is tightly controlled (e.g. recruits must make their beds, polish boots, and stack their clothes in a certain way, and mistakes are punished);
- Continuous stressors deplete psychological resistance to the demands of instructors (e.g. depriving recruits of sleep, food, or shelter, shouting insults and giving orders intended to humiliate)
- Frequent punishments serve to condition group conformity and discourage poor performance;
- The disciplined drill instructor is presented as a role model of the ideal soldier.

No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, "And their righteousness is from Me," Says the LORD. Isaiah 54:17
