Job Title: Steel Fixer Salary: ₲30,000 golles ($51,000 USD) to ₲60,000 golles ($105,000 USD) Location: Mount Vema (The Kingdom of Mount Vema) Project: City of Mount Vema Project Duration: Ongoing (minimum commitment 6 months) Starting Date: November 1st 2024 (immediate start on arrival) Handy Deed, the leading construction company of Mount Vema is looking for skilled tradespeople to work as steel fixers. To be responsible for the preparation, installation, and maintenance of steel reinforcement in construction projects in Mount Vema. Successful candidates will work in cutting steel to the correct size and shape, and will work on a variety of projects, including buildings, bridges, and other structures, and will play a crucial role in ensuring that these structures are strong and stable.
Successful candidates will be expected to have basic knowledge of positioning and securing steel reinforcing bars (rebar) and mesh in concrete structures to provide the necessary strength and stability. However, senior steel fixers must also be able to read and interpret technical drawings, interpreting blueprints and specifications to determine the required layout and dimensions of the rebar. As a steel fixer, you must be able to use tools such as pliers, wire cutters, and rebar benders to cut, shape, and place the rebar according to the design plans. You must also be able to use wire or plastic ties to secure the rebar in place and be responsible for welding or bolting the pieces together if necessary. Your work will be crucial to ensuring that concrete structures, such as buildings, and bridges, are able to withstand the forces and stresses they will encounter over their lifetimes. Responsibilities You'll need to: • Set out the work from instructions • Make steel bars or mesh the required length by cutting them with power saws • Assemble the reinforcing bars or mesh by tying into predetermined locations within the concrete • Prefab steel reinforcement as beams, cages, pile caps, columns, walls • Join the prefabricated units together for large sections of high rise or civil projects and position the reinforcement ready for concrete pours. Requirements: Proven experience as a Steel Fixer. Strong knowledge of rebar installation techniques and procedures. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate effectively with others. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Physically fit and able to work in a construction environment out at sea. Transportation to Mount Vema You will be responsible for all your travel expenses to Mount Vema see travel schedules and fare. Accommodation in Mount Vema Accommodation will be provided by the employer free of charge at an onsite dorm facility for the duration of the project. Food in Mount Vema Food will be provided by the employer free of charge in a canteen facility onsite for the duration of the project. Healthcare Basic healthcare will be provided free of charge, for accidents which take place onsite, which does not cover pre-existing conditions unless the employee is willing to cover the cost of healthcare or in willing to sign up for healthcare insurance.
