Domain squatters are a cyber threat, and a real problem to economic growth – The Government warned

April 29, 2022 – His Mount Vema Majesty’s Government has issued a warning to Mount Vema entities, foreign service providers and the public dealing with its legal entities to use services provided under the domain www.mount-vema.com or www.mount-vema.com/....., not to fall victim of domain squatters.
 
The warning comes after the security services have identified an increasing number of domain names uniquely associated with Mount Vema entities used by cyber squatters.
 
Cybersquatting also known as domain squatting is the practice of registering, trafficking in, or using an internet domain name, with bad faith intent to profit from the goodwill of a trademark belonging to someone else.
 
The term is derived from "squatting", which is the act of occupying an abandoned or unoccupied space or building that the squatter does not own, rent, or otherwise have permission to use.
 
Some of the squatter are even offering to sell the domains to the Mount Vema entity who own the trademarks contained within the name at an inflated price, and others are engaged in “cyberpiracy”, that is abusive domain name registrations.
