All Mount Vema citizens are now entitled to international medical insurance according to a statement issued today by His Mount Vema Majesty’s Government. The Mount Vema International Medical Insurance will enable holders of Mount Vema Passports direct access to some of the best doctors and private hospitals in the world.

The new health service negotiated last year and approved by the Vema Seamount Authority this year, gives Mount Vema citizens overseas access to valuable medical expertise, with the freedom to choose specialist and quality care anywhere in the world, including for day-to-day healthcare needs.

The Insurance is a comprehensive health care which covers a multitude of areas including medical emergency cover, doctors' visits, prescribed medicine, full health assessments and screening, smear tests, maternity care and the treatment of on-going or chronic conditions, cancer screenings, cancer treatment, surgical operations, hospital accommodation, intensive care, nursing care, prosthetic implants and appliances, and dental treatment.

A full health screening would generally include various routine tests to assess your state of health and could include tests such as high cholesterol, high blood pressure, diabetes, anaemia and lung function, liver and kidney function and cardiac risk assessment.

The insurance also covers non-medical costs such as transportation (to receive treatment) including local air and road ambulance or repatriation, vaccination and immunisations, pathology, X-rays and diagnostic tests.

If you have an accident, or if you fall seriously ill, and you hold a Mount Vema Passport or a Certificate of Mount Vema Citizenship, you need to know that there is a private medical insurance provided by the state that can trigger a rapid response from doctors who have the experience and resources to give you the best available care.

If the right specialists aren’t available, or if the health care system of the country you are living in is under resourced, you need to call the Consulate of the Kingdom of Mount Vema, to be evacuated home, or to a doctor in another country who can take care of you.

The insurance also covers psychiatric treatment and visits to therapists: these can include occupational therapists, orthoptists, dieticians and speech therapists. Complementary medicine practitioners: these can include acupuncturists, homeopaths and Chinese medicine practitioners. They must all be legally qualified to practice in the country where treatment is received.

The Mount Vema Healthline Services

Wherever in the world you may be, as a Mount Vema national, you can call the consulate of the Kingdom of Mount Vema at any time of the day or night and speak to medically trained people who understand your situation and can give you the healthcare advice, support and assistance you need.
