Pre-Academy and Private Education
The Pre-Academy of the Kingdom of Mount Vema, is also known in other countries as preschool, nursery school, pre-primary school, or kindergarten. It is an educational and learning service offering early childhood education to children between the ages of three and five, prior to the commencement of compulsory education at First-Academy. The services are privately operated but regulated by His Mount Vema Majesty’s Government, who subsidizes the costs.
The Pre-Academy also has an optional division that provides Child-Minding services and Daycare Services for 0-2 years of age. The cost of these services are not directly subsidized by the Government. It should be paid by the mother, out of her Postnatal income support, provided to her by the Government after giving birth, if she decides to return to work before the child turns 2. |
Pre-Academy of Mount Vema - The Areas of Development
The areas of development education covered by the Pre-Academy includes:
|
For the Mount Vema community living abroad, the parents of children who are not attending boarding school, must download the educations books, videos and films approved by His Mount Vema Majesty’s Government, and help their children read, or watch the recommended videos or films to learn. The children will then attend events at facilities provided by the Diplomatic and Consular Services to meet and play with the other children once a week, and once a month for exams or assessments of progress.
In the education system of Mount Vema, development of social skills and a sense of group belonging are major goals. The aim is, to decrease the role of the teacher and increase peer interactions. Participation in group activities is highly valued, even a child who is standing still near a group, is considered participating. Children are taught to work harmoniously in large and small groups, and to develop cooperativeness, kindness and social consciousness.
Children must learn from early age the sense of purpose and their individual importance and contribution to their families, group, community, nation, the Planet and to the Universe. Children are encouraged to resolve disputes with each other by themselves verbally ("use your words") rather than physically. Children may be punished with a time out or required to apologize or make reparations for misbehavior. Teachers can assist children to explain what happened, before any decision to punish is made. Self-expressive language skills are emphasized through informal interactions with teachers and through structured group activities such as show and tell exercises to enable the child to describe an experience to an adult. When a behavioral problem is attributed to the child's inappropriately express emotional dependency, remedies involve accepting the child, rather than treatment with drugs or punishment.
The Kingdom of Mount Vema attributes success to personal and group effort rather than inborn talent alone, leading teachers to ignore innate differences between children by encouraging and praising perseverance. They work to ensure that all students meet the standard rather that each reaches his or her own potential.

No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, "And their righteousness is from Me," Says the LORD. Isaiah 54:17
