Job Title: Senior Warehouse Facilities Manager / Experienced / Graduate/Assistant 
Salary: ₲20,000 golles ($36,000 US dollars) to ₲85,000 golles ($152,000 US dollars)
Location: Global
Starting Date: Open from October 2023
 
If you are highly organised, you work well under pressure, you enjoy coordinating and planning, and if you live or can legally relocate to a country, or a city with a freeport / free port, meaning any port open to all traders. A port where normal tax and customs rules do not apply, therefore open to shipment to any geographic location, in this case to Mount Vema, without restrictions except for applicable security checks, this role of a warehouse facilities manager could be ideal for you.
 
The government of the Kingdom of Mount Vema is looking for warehouse facilities managers to investigate the availability and suitability of options of freeports and warehouses, storage facilities, premises nearby, or development land, to store and manage a wide range of items, including supplies, equipment, resources, building materials, and assets for and destined to Mount Vema.
 
The successful candidate will also be responsible for the management of services and processes that support the maintenance of the facilities, and will ensure that best practices are followed for maximum efficiency and that the most suitable working environment is attained for the employees who will work at the facilities, and general activities at the facilities to ensure compliance with local law.
 
The successful candidate will also be involved in both strategic planning and day-to-day operations of the warehouse, particularly in relation to buildings and premises.
Areas of responsibility include:
  • organizing of building and grounds maintenance
  • organizing of cleaning
  • organizing of catering and vending in the facilities if applicable
  • health and safety
  • procurement and contract management
  • security
  • space management
  • utilities and communications infrastructure.
 
Responsibilities
As a warehouses facilities manager, you'll need to:
  • prepare documents to put out tenders for contractors
  • project manage, supervise and coordinate the work of contractors
  • investigate the availability and suitability of options for new premises
  • calculate and compare costs for required goods or services to achieve maximum value for money
  • plan for future development in line with strategic business objectives
  • manage and lead change to ensure minimum disruption to core activities
  • direct, coordinate and plan essential services such as reception, security, maintenance, mail, archiving, cleaning, catering, waste disposal and recycling
  • ensure buildings meet health and safety requirements and that facilities comply with legislation
  • keep staff safe
  • plan best allocation and utilisation of space and resources for new buildings, or re-organising of current premises
  • check that agreed work by staff or contractors has been completed satisfactorily and follow up on any deficiencies
  • coordinate and lead one or more teams to cover various areas of responsibility
  • use performance management techniques to monitor and demonstrate achievement of agreed service levels and to lead on improvement
  • respond appropriately to emergencies or urgent issues as they arise and deal with the consequences.
 
Salary
  • If your job application is accepted at an entry level, for example as a graduate/assistant facilities manager, you should expect a job offer with an average annual salary of ₲20,000 golles and up to ₲27,000 golles (this is the equivalent of about $36,000 and up to $48,000 US dollars).
 
  • If your job application is accepted as an experienced warehouse facilities manager, you should expect a job offer with an average annual salary of ₲30,000 golles and up to ₲45,000 golles (this is the equivalent of about $54,000 and up to $80,000 US dollars).
 
  • If your job application is accepted as a senior warehouse facilities manager, you should expect a job offer with an average annual salary of ₲60,000 golles and up to ₲85,000 golles (this is the equivalent of about $107,000 and up to $152,000 US dollars).

Working hours
You'll generally work 40 hours per week, but longer hours may be required on occasion to meet deadlines or to cover emergencies. Some of the employer’s facilities management roles may require shift work in order to cover 24-hour operations.
 
What to expect
  • You may be required to work at different premises and absence from home overnight is sometimes necessary.
  • Due to the City of Mount Vema being a long-term project, this position may demand flexibility or relocation.
  • The work can be pressured at times, particularly when working to tight budgets or when emergencies arise.
  • There are good opportunities to be relocated to other countries for those with experience.

Pre-entry experience is desirable and a placement year in industry from a relevant degree can be particularly useful. Experience can be particularly useful in areas such as:

  • management.
Having some previous experience in the hospitality sector is also valuable, as you'll need strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a range of people.
 
The Job Application Process
